Where in the world is Mega DuckyDucky!

It’s time: Time for some ducking fun! Easter was certainly early this year, which means ya’ll get to hunt for DuckyDucky sooner. And hunt you will. For this sixth annual DuckyDucky Easter hunt, folks follow clues to seek out the hiding Sir DuckyDucky — who will be in mini DuckyDucky form — in order to earn some fluffy rewards. Once enough have flocked to his hiding spot, a Mega DuckyDucky will be spawned for everyone to tickle until he drops the goodies. And it all starts tomorrow, 5 April 2024, as the 6th annual DuckyDucky Easter Hunt kicks off at 9:30 p.m. EDT on MJTV.

So Where in the World is Sir DuckyDucky? (Are you singing again? Good!) Clues for the search will be shared via this post, Twitter (I refuse to call it that letter!), DuckyDucky Discord, and even livestream on MJTV. As always, after the spawns, Sir DuckyDucky will skedaddle and find himself a new spot — and even a new server — somewhere around Lore, so listening to clues carefully is still important. If you find him, don’t stop! Catching him multiple times is rewarding: Each DuckyDuckyZilla will drop a token that can be exchanged for a pet and permanent travel form in the community shop, and also has the chance to drop the Cape o’ DuckyDucky and temporary travel forms.

Following last year, we’ll have five different hunt days of various times to help accommodate all times zones. Here are the hunt times:

9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, 5 April 2024 (+ livestream clue giving!)
11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, 6 April 2024 (+ livestream clue giving!)
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, 8 April 2024 (surprise livestream!)
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, 10 April 2024
9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, 12 April 2024 (+livestream clue giving!)

Sorry, go to won’t work! Sir DuckyDucky’s friends list is completely blank. But if you can’t find him at first, don’t worry: Remember, clues will be shared periodically on Twitter, here on this post, on the DuckyDucky Discord, and (for most days) live on stream. Though once he’s found and the spawns are downed, Sir DuckyDucky will fly away to a new roost — possibly on a new server! That means, more clues. And who knows, he might even leave a few DuckyZillas randomly as he travels.

Day 2 – 6 April 2024

11:05 a.m. clue: The server has a shining sun, but Sir DuckyDucky wonders, why is it so cold? Brrrr!

Day 3 – 8 April 2024

10:00 a.m. clue: On the Phoenix server, Sir DuckyDucky sees many heroes at rest.

10:15 a.m. CLUE: Too fast, now he had to move! Now, he’s that his feet are webbed. Sand can’t get between his toes!

10:25 Clue: You’re finding is too good! Sir DuckyDucky is beginning to think he has a tacker on him!

4:50 p.m. clue: Had to jet, cause ya’ll are great finders. Now, he’s off to visit the Lorax.

Thanks so much for the fun everyone! Every year is slightly different; already looking forward to next year’s. Taking feedback into account and planning ways to bring back more fun in the hunt!

This fourth annual hunt will stretch over four different days, culminating in a final livestream where the winners will be randomly chosen from all eligible entries by a spin of the Wheel o’ Shinies.  In honor fo this celebration of the fourth year, there will be  four adorable DuckyDucky pets AND four Cape O’ DuckyDuckys to give away! So, you may ask, how do you play? Here are the rules and instructions, so take note! If you’ve participated previously, the rules haven’t changed. Your task is to discover where Sir DuckyDucky is hiding out and snap a screenshot with him (be sure you include you showing your name!). This screenshot is your entry for the drawing. Sir DuckyDucky will be moving all around Lore — even moving servers, so be sure to listen to clues carefully as he might jump in the middle of a hunt!

Remember, when you find him, take a screenshot of him and make sure Sir DuckyDucky’s name and yours are both visible in this pic! Then send this picture to @MJ_Guthrie on Twitter (either personal message or #DuckyDuckyHunt) or email to lookingforshinies@gmail.com. This is your entry!! All entries have an equal chance of winning (except for those who have already have one of the items; you can specify you are only entering for one particular prize — either cape or pet — if you’ve already won the other previously). Also, note that previous DuckyDucky/cape winners are not eligible to win another, nor can they win to trade them with anyone else. Items are only for the individual who wins!

Once he is found by a few, Sir DuckyDucky will sneak away to a new spot –possibly on a new server! If no one has found him, clues will be shared periodically both on Twitter and here on this post… and now also on the DuckyDucky Discord! Remember, no one can go to him as his friends list is completely blank! And you may not be too eager to share where you found him since the more who join the raffle, the lower your chances of winning become.

Thanks to feedback, we’ve devised a better giveaway. It is in testing so if we need to make revisions for next time, we can! This time we have a special point-driven raffle system in place. Raffle tickets will be purchased using the brand-new channel currency for MJTV called shinies. These are earned by watching and participating in MJTV streams on https://www.twitch.tv/mjguthrie. Shinies — and hours watched for ranking and regular status — will start accruing starting during the MJTV stream on 1 March 2019. (Note: Those bonus points awarded to viewers during the 26 February 2019 stream will be added to recipients Twitch accounts.) SO how do you get them? Some are automatic, and some require a bit of luck.

How to earn shinies (points):

• By watching: 1 shiny per every 15 minutes just for watching live (+1 for sub, +1 for active)
• By winning raffles/Moglin Mayhem contests: 5 shinies per win (+5 for subscribers)
• By supporting MJTV: 10 shinies for sub, 1 shiny per 50 bits cheered, 2 shinies per $1 tip

Shinies raffles will be done randomly during streams. Extra raffles may happen when cheers or tips occur or when hitting certain viewer counts.  For instance, at 50 viewers there will be two (2) bonus raffles. At 75 viewers, there will be three (3)!

All shinies accumulated from this time until the final raffle drawing during the AQ3D stream on 15 March 2019 can be used for the drawing. During that final stream the raffle will close and the winner will be drawn.

How to enter final raffle drawing:

Each raffle ticket will cost 10 shinies. You can purchase as many tickets as you have shinies for. Please note that shinies are spent/removed whether or not you win! The raffle itself will be open on the MJTV channel for 24 hours before the drawing itself giving everyone in every time zone the opportunity to get their tickets and enter. You need not be present to win, but you will have to whisper me from your Twitch account before any prize can be awarded.

Important notes:

Remember, the DuckyDucky is a loyalty reward! He is my special mascot for LFS and MJTV. As discussed previously, there will be a minimum level of entry to participate in the final raffle. You will have to have a combined total of two (2) hours of viewing time during those two weeks to enter. Honestly, if you aren’t watching you won’t be accruing many points, but this will also prevent someone with great RNG from swooping in for a total of 10 minutes and randomly winning.

Please do not enter with alt Twitch accounts. As much as increased viewers might seem nice, it is very important to me that the drawing be as fair as I can possibly make it. If you are discovered to be using multiple accounts to enter the raffle, you will be disqualified. This can include removal of the pet if already delivered to be awarded to another. Please, let’s be respectful of this rule and only purchase your raffle tickets using one single Twitch account.

If you are a viewer and aren’t interested in the DuckyDucky pet, don’t worry! You keep your shinies; there will be other giveaways in the future you can elect to spend your shinies on!

One of the great things about TSW is the fact that it’s not just a matter of grabbing a couple levels and going out to smash through things with the same skills you’ve been using all along. Here you have to tailor what you are going to use for what you are going to face! I love that even combat involves planning, paying attention, and strategy.  And if you don’t get things right the first time: step back, reevaluate, and readjust your plan of attack. Then, when victory is obtained, it’s all the sweeter. Nothing drove that point home better than this:

A Time to Kill was an emotional roller coaster, which is really a good thing.  And even though I know what lies in store, I can’t wait to do at again on my Templar — not just for the flamethrower, but to experience the story again.

If you don’t want any spoilers on how things turn out and want to experience it all fresh for yourself, then be be warned: You do not want to hit play!!

All too soon a game that has given us some of the best innovated gaming features will be gone. Yes, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is closing in on its closure date. Come July 31st, people will no longer be able to run across the massive world dodging danger, really ply their skills in a deep crafting system, or one-up the NPCs using the diplomacy system. And it is a shame.

Before it’s gone, I hope many people have the chance to jump back in appreciate the gem. I took a few moments just to fly a bit and stock up on some visual memories, and you can, too, with this video. Here’s to many more memories before the game is gone!
