So, I am sure to be flamed from certain circles for this, but I just really don’t care about WildStar. Like oh me gosh! How can this BE? I am just not a fan. After keeping up on it through Massively.com and playing through the beta some, the game just has no allure for me.  And that’s just fine.  This is where I like to remind people “To each his own!”

You see, there is absolutely no reason that every game should cater to every person. Heck, one game should not even cater to every person! There are those that think WildStar is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Good for them! It just does not appeal to me. I don’t like the graphics (the colors drive me crazy), I do not like the combat, and I do not find the quests compelling. As far as I know, the only thing I actively dislike is the stupid voice that treats you like you are three years old whenever you level. That seriously, seriously annoys me. it bothers me almost as much as do people who continue to rip on others and put them down for liking something different. (Guess what? It’s really a good, good thing that we aren’t all like you Mr. InsultyPants.)

When it comes down to it, there are just other games out there that tickle my gaming bone much better. They appeal to things that interest me (I am screaming Tokyo and The Secret World here as loud as I can). And if you know me already, you know that I am not your typical personality. So, taking into account people are different, it makes sense they like different things, no? And that’s good!  Ultimately that means that more gaming devs will make a living off of their products because we aren’t all identical lemmings leaping off the same launch cliff.

Now, having said all that, I am going to play the game a bit. For one, friends and viewers — you guys — are there. So I’ll hang out with you a bit before you all out-level me and move on to the stuff of endgame. Two, as a certified (certifiable?) housing enthusiast/nut, I owe it to myself to experience the system in WildStar. There are some unique things that need to be checked out. As such, I will be slowly making my way up that leveling ladder to the ripe old rung of 14. I know, sounds like it isn’t a big deal to any, but when you don’t really enjoy playing much it is difficult!  Once I get the abode, I’ll invite you all over for my housewarming farewell party.

Well said. I wish more people had this sort of attitude.

As you say we all like different things in gaming and not every thing will be a perfect fit for everyone. Its ok to not like a game but don’t use that as an excuse to “attack” someone who may happen to like that game. Their opinion does not invalidate yours they just like different things to you is all.

Anyhow, thank you MJ for taking the time to stream Wildstar, even if the game is not a perfect fit for your gaming style. You still manage to make it entertaining and its much appreciated :-)

Clad that you like it. I am still using the build as I havenb4t played much. I finiehsd Egypt and several quests in the Contested Farmlands in Transylvania. I actually found Egypt to be pretty easy with this build and I died a lot less than in the Solomon Island Zones. (and deaths often where unrelated to build)Contested Farmlands is doable as well, but I made a few changes:I now use Beatdown instead of Amor Faati for more Impair and I dropped No Pain, No Gain for Resilient Defender.Resilient Defender turned out to be a game changer like Forged in Fire and makes it really hard to take you down, even against bigger groups of opponents. For gear I use a mix of Tanking and DPS gear, but if I can i use DPS Items and glyph defensive stats for them (block>dodge>defense) to trigger resilient defender.I will try out a piece of healing gear next to see how much it affects Resilient Defender heals. So: attack power gear with block/dodge/defense and 1 or 2 tank/healing pieces thrown in. Some +Hit doesnb4t hurt either, I usually put that on the weapons.

That’s what I like about this genre…variety. And one of the cool things you mentioned is that you’re at least giving it a chance.

That’s always been my downfall. After just a few hours in, I tend to judge right away whether or not this game is going to be for me. After getting an invite into open beta for WildStar, I was hooked right away…however, other titles in the past didn’t hook me, and maybe it’s because it’s my fault too…

I purchased The Secret World when it came out. I was discouraged by all the zombie killing stuff I had to do. I dislike zombie content. I’m just not into that type of stuff. The only zombie movie I ever truly enjoyed was Zombieland, but it was more for the comedic aspect, that, and the fact it had Emma Stone in it. <3 Zombies just aren't my thing.

So, what did I do? After a couple hours in Kingsmouth, I decided to uninstall the game.

Now, during your TSW streams I was told by you and the chat room that the game isn't just about zombies…so I am prepared to try to fight through the Kingsmouth portion of the game and see what lies ahead, then I'll judge. The good thing about giving this game a chance is it's F2P.

There are ghosts, ghouls, more Filth monsters, hideous bugs, vampires, werewolves and so much more coming up! So glad you are giving it another chance. If you need a hand sometime, let me know.

i wish i could be arsed to roll a toon on your server. it was fun followign you around killing mobs with you that one time. it’s also fun and funny watching you facetank telegraphs, which i guess if you’re end goal is level 14 isn’t that big a deal in the long run.

on that note i do make fun and tease but quite frankly i don’t choose who i play with based on skill level. i hang out with people online for their personality and enjoying their company. so you keep being you and don’t worry about being bad or not. i’ll love watching you and chatting with you either way 😀
